New International Guideline for traceability in fresh produce

GS1 and the International Federation for Produce Standards (IFPS) are pleased to announce the release of the Traceability for Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Implementation Guide based on the GS1 Global Traceability Standard. The Guide serves as a common-sense blueprint that enables all stakeholders in the fresh produce supply chain to implement traceability practices utilising the GS1 System of standards and in particular, the GS1 Global Traceability Standard. GS1 global supply chain standards are used by business in over 100 countries.

We read this guide and it is excellent, but very dense. This also makes some assumptions about growers (i.e. that they should use SCCC codes) that don’t make sense for all growers. Still, overall this is an admirable effort to bring this complex subject matter into a clear focus. Thanks for posting this.
